Herbert Shipman was an American suffragan bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of New York under William Thomas Manning.
Shipman, Herbert was born on August 3, 1869 in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Son of Jacob S. and Anne Louisa (Gold) Shipman.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Reverend Jacob Shipman. He became a Bishop in 1921 for the Episcopal Diocese of New York serving under William Thomas Manning. He died on March 24, 1930 of heart disease while at luncheon in his home at 154 East Seventieth Street in Manhattan.
