  • Achievements include development of first multichannel acoustic echo canceller to allow full-duplex communication with surround sound systems. Research in unified theory and generalization of blind source separation for convolutive mixtures and for blind deconvolution of signals, e.g., sound signals. Development of first system of its kind for blind separation of sound sources in reverberant acoustic environments, based on a novel information-theoretic wideband approach.

    Development of first system of its kind for multidimensional localization of multiple sound sources in reverberant acoustic enviroments. Patents pending for 'Wave-Domain Adaptive Filtering', a novel framework for massive multichannel adaptive filtering applications. Development of first full-duplex multimedia communication system of its kind, based on acoustic wavefield analysis and wavefield synthesis for large listening rooms.
