Career
The Knight"s Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Hermann von Wedel was wounded during the Battle of Narva and died in hospital in Dorpat, Estonia on 5 February 1944. Iron Cross (1914) Bibliography.
