Career
Civil Service, Bengal, 1873. Sometime Under - Secretary to Government of Bengal, and Under-Secretary and Deputy Secretary to Government of India. Employed in Famine Relief, Bengal, 1874.
Madras, 1877.
Postmaster-General of Bengal from 18S4, and in that capacity organised posts for Sikkim Campaign, 1888 (medal and clasp). Represented India at International Postal Congresses, Vienna, 1891. Washington, 1897; Berne, 1900.
Rome, 1906.
And at Imperial Penny Postage Conference, London, 1898. Officiated for four years as Director-General of Post Office of India. Member of Council of Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal, and Acting Financial Secretary to Government of Bengal, 1901-1902.
Commissioner of aDivision from April 1902.
Retired 1904. Barrister - at - law.
