Director budget planning Ministry National Defense, 1978-1981. Member 12th National Assembly, 1985.

Member 13th National Assembly, 1990-1992. Economic chief secretary to the President Office of the President, 1988-1990. Mayor Daegu Metropolitan City, since 1995.
