Graduated only from elementary school. From the age of 10 studied tool sculpture under Kizo Toyoda for seven years.
From 1908 had been working at Tamurakoma and Itoman stores for eight years. Later in 1916 returned to his native place and opened up his own shop. In 1953 conferred the National Craft Citation.
