Career
Toined Sumo training quarters run by Dewanoumi of previous generation (Name Dewanoumi is succeeded to by each succeeding master of Sumo of the Dewanoumi team and made his debut a junior grade wrestler (Maku- shita) with the name of Kasagiyama (1932) . As Juryo (intermidiary between junior and senior grade wrestler) made straight wins in the January Sumo Tournament of 1935 and rose to Sekiwake. After retiring from the ring (1946), became To- shiyori (Sumo manager) succeeding to the professional Toshiyori name of Hideno-yama. Lecturer of Waseda University.
