Hideyasu Tokugawa was born in 1574 in Shizuoka, Japan.
At Sekigahara Battle (1600) distinguished himself in controlling Kagekatsu Uesugi while Ieyasu engaged himself in subduing Oshu (northeastern part of Japan proper). The same year was made Lord of Echizen (Ishikawa Prefecture) with fief of 67,000 koku of rice. In 1601 he built a castle at Kitanosho (Fukui Prefecture).
Hideyasu became son-in-law of Hideyoshi Toyotomi in 1584.
