Hime was the daughter of Sotsuhiko Katsuragi and granddaughter of Sukune Takenouchi.

Hime was the daughter of Sotsuhiko Katsuragi and granddaughter of Sukune Takenouchi.
She was the first commoner to marry an Emperor. Her husband was Emperor Nintoku, to whom she bore three sons who all ascended the throne in turn. They are Richu, Hansei, Ingyo. She died in the 35th year of her husband^ reign. Some of her waka poems are said to be included in Ko〇im and Manyo-shii anthology.
