Career

Began practice at Boston, 1861. Appointed commissioner of insolvency for Company of Suffolk, Massachusetts, June 16, 1861, and inspector and trustee of Massachusetts Hospital, Rainsford Island, Boston Harbor, December 13, 1865. Served until hospital was transferred to City of Boston.

Commissioned First lieutenant and adjunct 61st Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, November 13, 1864. Mustered out at expiration of term of service, June 4, 1865. Participated in defense and capture of Petersburg, Virginia.

Membership

Member Boston Common Council, 1867. Member Epsilon Chapter Delta Kappa Epsilon, Gamma Chapter Phi Beta Kappa.
