Chief engineer Hydraulic Mining & Irrigation Company, New Mexico, 1889-1890. Engineer and superintendent construction Billings Park and race track, White River Junction, Vermont, and designed and located sewerage system for W. Randolph, Vermont, 1890.
Chief engineer San Diego (California) Land & Town Company, Sweetwater dam system, San Diego, 1891-1903. Chief engineer Sweetwater Park and Race Track, 1893-1894. Construction engineering San Diego & Cuyamaca R.R., San Diego & La Jolla R.R., Coronado Beach R.R., 1893-1903, Cuyamaca (California) Water Company, 1896.

Also supervising engineer Northern Division in charge investigation, designs, construction, operation 12 irrigation projects and storage features, including Shoshone Dam (highest in the world), Corbett Tunnel, etc., total expenditures about $3,000,000 annually, 1904-1915. Consultant and construction engineer Sweetwater Water Company, enlargement extension Sweetwater Dam and Water Carrying System, 1916-1917.
Hydraulic engineer City of San Diego (California) Municipal Water System impounding and carrying features. Designed and constructed with city forces, Lower Otay Dam, Barrett Dam, Morena Dam and Spillway enlargement, Rapid High Pressure Filtration Plant. Directed investigation of all additional Water Supply resources in San Diego Company and vicinity.
Field location and design all impounding and carrying features for fifty years future water requirements, estimated cost over $100,000,000, 1917-1923. Toured world 3 times for engineering and architectural research. Reported on technical administrative matters and requirements to the President of the United States, 1925-1926.
Construction engineering The Research Service (international), Washington, also of Newell, Corse & McDaniel, Washington, District of Columbia. Recalled to San Diego, 1928, to take charge of Municipal bureau of Water Development.
