Hiroto Saigusa was born in 1892, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
Saigusa Hiroto graduated from Philosophy Section, Tokyo University (1922).
Saigusa Hiroto became instructor at Toyo, Hosei and Rissho universities. Went to Europe (1931). Returning to Japan (1932) he organized the Materialism Research Institute, where he devoted himself to study of Georg W.F. Hegel's philosophy. After the war, he founded Kamakura College and became its president but the school was closed (1950). Professor at Yokohama Municipal College (since 1952).
