Kiemon III was considered a great master in ceramics, while Kiheiji VII became purveyor to Imperial Household, and in recognition of his talent was granted the title of Hitachi-daijo (1774). His descendants later were all attached to the Imperial Court. Kiheiji VIII was the originator of Gokushin-yaM pottery.
