Hope S. Yen

Background

Yen was born on June 6, 1971 in Austin, Texas, United States; the daughter of Sian L. Yen and Beatrice H. Yen.

Education

Yen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in 1993. Four years later she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Career

Yen began her career as an attorney at Chadbourne & Parke LLP in 1997. Two years later she took a position of a law and business journalist at Associated Press in Philadelphia. In 2001, Hope became a business journalist at the same agency in New York. In 2004 she was appointed as a national journalist at Associated Press in Washington.

Yen is a member of American Bar Association, Investigative Reporters & Editors Inc., Asian American Journalists Association, Texas Executives Alumni Association and Phi Beta Kappa Society.
