His career in media and sports began in 1994, when he served as a youth volunteer on the organizing committee for the African Cup of Nations. Zaghdoudi has covered sports events on radio and television from Africa, Asia, and Europe. With Établissement de la Radiodiffusion-Télévision Tunisienne (ERTT) and (DMI), he has produced and presented exclusive interviews with famous football players, coaches, and executives, including Pelé, Samuel Eto"o, Franz Beckenbauer, Johan Cruyff, Eusébio, Oliver Kahn, Sandro Rosell, Carlos Alberto Parreira, Grafite, Ronald Koeman, Georges Weah, Nuno Gomes, and Sepp Blatter.
He has been a commentator and presenter for four Africa Cup of Nations competitions, two European Championships, and four World Cups.
From 1997–2006, Zaghdoudi worked as a commentator on the national satellite channel Wataniya 1. He was also a presenter for public programs such as "Ajwaa First Rate (at Lloyd's) Malaeb" (Arabic: أجواء الملاعب), the analytical studio for the Football Tunisian League, and a reporter for "First Rate (at Lloyd's) Ahad First Rate (at Lloyd's) Riadhi" (Arabic:الأحد الرياضي).
He worked on Dubai Sports"s coverage of the German Football League"s Bundesliga events, producing and presenting some of the most prominent programs of this coverage, which lasted from 2006 to 2014. He conducted a series of exclusive interviews with Bundesliga stars and went behind the scenes to produce programs such as "One Day with Bayern in Munich" and "One Day with Mohamed Zidan in Dortmund".
He introduced the Arab audience to the phenomenon of the Vuvuzela (the plastic trumpet that became wildly popular during that World Cup) and filed exclusive reports on Johannesburg, the Cape Town suburb of Green Point, Nelson Mandela, the World Cup stadiums, the South African national team, the Brazilian national team, and the pursuit of World Cup tickets, helping to make Dubai Sports the first broadcaster to report from the site of the event, starting in May 2010.
In February 2000, Zaghdoudi began working as a commentator for the (ASBU). He covered tournaments for which the ASBU owns television broadcasting rights, including the World Cup qualifiers for Latin America, the Mediterranean Games, and the Copa América. He commentated on football and Basketball at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
In 2015, nine years after his last football coverage on Tunisian television, Zaghdoudi returned for the relaunching of the private Tunisian channel Ettounsiya.
He reported live on 7 June 2015 from the CAF Confederation Cup at Radès Olympic Stadium in Tunis. Ettounsiya experienced record viewership, with 66 percent audience share for the channel.
