Margarian graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor in Biological Sciences in 2002 and earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2006.
His family moved to the United States when he was 13 years old. Hovanes Margarian started his early academic career with interest in science and medicine. He published his first scholarly article while in high school around his chemistry project on the topic of “An Inexpensive Microscale Method for Measuring Vapor Pressure, Associated Thermodynamic Variables, and Molecular Weight”.
As a University of Southern California McNair Scholar he began working on his next research project on “Transduction of Human Hematopoietic Stem Cells.
Mr Margarian’s research findings were later published in the Journal of Molecular Therapy under the title: “Expression from Second-Generation Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Vectors Is Impaired in Human Hematopoietic Cells”. Mr. Margarian obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2006.
The Margarian Law Firm Immediately after graduating from the law school, Margarian established the Law Offices of Hovanes Margarian, which was subsequently renamed to The Margarian Law Firm. Foreign the first 7 years of his practice, Mr.
Margarian has exclusively litigated major Auto Dealer Fraud, California Lemon Law and Class Action cases.
Currently the firm is a full service entity with 7 attorneys with different specialties. Major Cases City of Los Angeles – In a multimillion-dollar class action lawsuit City of Los Angeles was ordered to pay out millions of dollars to the residents of the city for improperly overcharging solid waste collection, id est (that is) trash, fees for years. Audi Class Action – In an ongoing class action lawsuit, Audi/Volkswagen Automotive Group is being accused of manufacturing and distributing around 5 million vehicle with defective engines that over-consume motor oil leading to serious problems.

Margarian was elected the first president of the University of Southern California Downtown Alumni. Margarian Scholarship The total scholarship ranges from $5,000 to $10,000 every year.
