Upon his return to Atlanta McLaughlin found employment with the firm of Edwards & Say ward, later became head draftsman in the office of McDonald & Company, where he was largely responsible for the design of the Union Station. In more recent years his work included one of the city’s largest Housing Projects, also he was associated with Burge & Stevens on a military project in Savannah.
