Career
In 1971 he founded the Karanga Ceramic Studio at Silverdale in Auckland. Williams is the editor of the New Zealand Pottery Workbook, a practical guide for pottery making that draws upon his wide experience as a studio potter both in New Zealand and overseas. He has had a long involvement with the New Zealand Potters Society, being the editor of Then and Now: New Zealand Potters Miscellany 1963-2009 and New Zealand Potter.
