Career
He played all or part of five seasons in the majors, between 1961 and 1966, for the Detroit Tigers and Washington Senators. Koplitz went 9–7 with a 4.21 Earned run average over his career. In his first game in the Major Leagues, the first player he faced was future Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, whom he struck out.
