Career
When he was 9 years old, he followed the Guerrilla warfare. When he was 13 years old, he followed the Republic of China Army in the region to Taiwan. When he was 20 years old, he left the army.
When he was 26 years old (1974,) he meditated over 18 hours a day at Waishuanghsi(外雙溪).
When he was 27 years old (1975,) he practiced meditation in Yilan County. When he was 31 years old (1979,) he meditated 20 hours a day in Longtan District, Taoyuan.
When he was 34 years old (1982,) he went into retreat for six months, and did not eat or drink for a prolonged period. When he was 35 years old (1983,) he continued his retreat at Fulong.
He only ate 9 bai flower pills (百花丸) a day, and only drank local mountain water(山泉水).
Founding his temple
He later founded the Ling Jiou Mountain Monastery in 1983. He founded the Global Family for Love and Peace in New York, United States of America, in 2002. He is also interested in interfaith dialogue and currently sits on the Board of World Religious Leaders for the Elijah Interfaith Institute.
