Hu Fa-kuang, GBS, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Justice of the Peace was born in Shanghai and moved to Hong Kong in 1952.
Career
He is the director and managing director of Ryoden (Holdings) Limited and other companies. During the 1990s when Hong Kong was about to be handed over to the People"s Republic of China, Hu took part in negotiation and preparatory works. He also set up a political group called the Liberal Democratic Federation of Hong Kong representing the interest of the business block.
Membership
He had served in many public offices including member of the Legislative Council, Urban Council, Wan Chai District Board, Transport Advisory Committee, and also Chairman of the Transport Tribunal and the Council for Recreation and Sport and a promoter of sport activities. He was a member of the Preparatory Committee for the HKSAR and a delegate to the Chinese People"s Political Consultative Conference.
