Career
Huang Liping started as an amateur in 1978, joining the Hubei team in 1985, and then selected to the China"s national gymnastics team the following year. Huang also finished sixth in the parallel bars at those same games. Retired Retiring after the 1996 games, Huang passed the gymnasics exam to become the youngest world-class gymnastics magistrate in China.
In 1998 he was named the national gymnastics coach, replacing Li Ning in that position.
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Huang took the Olympic Oath for judges at the Beijing National Stadium during the Opening Ceremonies.
