Graduate Chicago Manual Training school and Phillips Academy Andover, Mass. Graduated from the United States Naval Academy, 1905. Graduate Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, 1912.

Member David Herbert Burnham & Company (founded by father), Chicago, 1910-1912, Graham, Burnham & Company, 1912-1917, re-established firm of D. H. Burnham & Company, 1917, Burnham Brothers, Inc., 1928. Burnham Brothers & Hammond, Inc., 1933, now Burnham & Hammond. Firm designed the Burnham, Bankers, Carbide and Carbon, Engineering and Medical and Dental Arts Building, Chicago, Southern wing and boiler house Evanston (Illinois) Hospital, Presbyterian-St. Lukes Nurses Home, Chicago, Argo Elementary School, Memorial Hospital, Springfield, Illinois Past chairman Evanston City Plan Commission Retired, 1955.

Lieutenant United States Navy, World War. Aviation construction work in France 14 months.
