Bromley-Davenport also played four Test matches for England, all of which were against South Africa. Hugh Bromley-Davenport was educated at Eton and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He served with the Royal Engineers in the First World War, and was awarded the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services.
