Margáin Gleason, Hugo B was born on February 13, 1913 in Federal District, Mexico. Son of César R. Margáin, well-known doctor and professor, and Maria Teresa Gleason. Studied under Antonio Carrillo Flores, Ramón Beteta, and Alfonso Noriega at National Autonomous University sister Maria Luisa married Manuel Sandoval Vallaría.
Brother-in-law of industrialist Carlos Phillips Olmedo, brother of Alfredo Phillips Olmedo.
