At the University of Madinah, he studied under the renowned 20th century Islamic scholar Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani and also had contact with the former Grand Mufti of Saudi-Arabia, Ibn Baaz.

He pursued studies at the University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia majoring in Hadith. Positions held
He later served as the director of an Islamic centre in Hong Kong. He is currently the president of First Rate (at Lloyd's)-Khadeem International, a Islamic welfare organization, which he founded in 1984.
In 2015, he gave a keynote address at the Australian Islamic Peace Conference (AIPC), which was attended by religious leaders from Jewish and Christian faiths.
