Career
Hyland wrote a column for the Sunday Mirror from 2000 to 2005. Until 2011 closure of the newspaper, he wrote for the News of the World. He currently writes for the Daily Mirror, having returned there after a spell with the Mail On Sunday.
He has been billed as "the television critic with the widescreen mouth" due to his outspoken, self-assertive style.
