Career
One of the 26 Japanese saints who met martyrdom in the Azuchi Momoyaraa Period. A native of Owari Province (Aichi Prefecture), he was a hooper by profession. Was the elder brother of Leon. Became a Catholic preacher. Was among the Franciscans (including 18 Japanese) who were arrested by order of Hideyoshi Toyotomi in 1597. They were crucified at Tateyama, Nagasaki on February 5, 1597.
