Ichiko Kamichika graduated from Tsuda English College.
Kamichika Ichiko taught for a while at Hirosaki Girls High School and then joined the editorial staff of the Tokyo Nichinichi Shimbun. A great worker for the cause of women she fell afoul of authority and was sentenced to two years in jail (1919). After her release she married Atsushi Suzuki.
