Tago Ichimin was born on November 14, 1881 in Iwate, Japan.
Tago became a Home Ministry official, rose to the post of chief of the Social Affairs Bureau and retired as governor of Mie Prefecture. He was elected to the House of Representatives seven times and served as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Railways, Vice-Speaker and Speaker of the Lower House.
After the war, Tago has been active in the business world. He was appointed president of the Sanyo Machinery Company.
