He studied under Ansai Yamazaki and was good at composing Chinese poems, panting and calligraphy. He studied painting under Yoshinobu Kano in Edo and excelled particularly in coloring.
Career
During a famine in 1751, he sold his own property and saved many sufferers. In 1777, he presented to the Court several paintings of his at an order of the Emperor Gomomozono.
