Igor Macypura

Background

Macypura was born in the Soviet Union.

Career

He moved to the United States at an early age. Macypura competed at the national level in the United States, competing twice at the United States. Figure Skating Championships. During his time in the United States, he represented the Peninsula Skating Club.

He began representing Slovakia internationally in the 2005-2006 season. At the 2005 Karl Schäfer Memorial, the last Olympic qualifying competition, he placed 8th and qualified a spot to the Olympics.

However, the spot was not filled.

Achievements

• He is the 2005-2008 Slovak national champion. He won the short program, but placed ninth in the free skate to place eighth overall. Macypura competed at the 2005 Slovak Championships and won the national title. In the 2006-2007 season, he won the bronze medal at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial.
