One of Stalin’s architects and chief exponent of socialist realism in architecture. The metro stations Novokuznetskaia (1943) and Elektrozavodskaia (1946), the Soviet Embassy building in Warsaw (1954-1956), are some of his many works. Taught at the Moscow Architectural Institute, 1935-1964 and from 1972.
