From 1963 to 1989 Igor Aleksandrovich was the soloist of the ballet and the artist of the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. At the same time, for 14 years he worked as a teacher at the senior classes of the Perm Choreography School. In 1966, Igor Aleksandrovich headed the Choreographic Ensemble "Sunny Rainbow" and was the artistic director and the chief choreographer there until 1989. From 1989 to the present he is the artistic director and the chief choreographer of the Moscow Ice Ballet.
During the years of his creative activity, Igor Aleksandrovich danced leading parts and dances of a particular repertoire in ballet and opera productions (1963-1989). In Perm and other theatres he staged plays and choreographic performances in operas "Ivan Susanin", "Knightly Ballad", "Carmen", "War and Peace", "Winnie-Pooh", etc.
As the chief choreographer Igor Aleksandrovich took part in staging performances at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, at the World Youth and Student Festivals in Havana and Moscow (1985). He was an art director, scriptwriter and director of theatrical festivals of folk art in India (1988, Delhi, Trivandrum), the World Festival of Folklore in Moscow (1990). During the celebration of the 850th anniversary of Moscow foundation he was the director of the episode "Autumn" in the "Moscow for All Seasons" performance (1997).
