Iguchi Tadasu was a retainer of the Akita Clan. When he accompanied his lord, Yoshitaka Satake, to Edo he sent a statement to the Shogunate advocating pro-imperialist opinions. For that action, he was ordered to go back to Akita where he was punished.
Served in a campaign against pro-Shogunate elements in the Shonai Clan in Yamagata Prefecture. Was appointed instructor at the Akita Clan’s school (1868) and took charge of Shinto shrine affairs.
