1925-1928 studied at Electr Engineer Department, Moscow Higher Technical College. 1931 graduate Physics and Mathematics Faculty, Leningrad Polytech Institute.
From 1931 postgraduate student, Leningrad Polytech Institute. Simultaneously junior assistant, then associate, Leningrad Institute of Physics Engineer. During his postgraduate studies accomplished two important research projects on the diffraction of fast electrons.
March 1933 appointed to adapt the Wilson camera for the study of cosmic radiation in the stratosphere, also assigned to stratisphcric balloon flights. Did research on cosmic radiation. Designed an improved version of the Wilson camera.
30 January 1934 ascended to 20,600 meters with a balloon of the Social to Promote the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Aviation, Chemical and Defense Indiana. Balloon encountered bad weather and crashed, killing all crew members.
