Ila Pant is an Indian politician who was a Member of Parliament in 12th Lok Sabha from Uttarakhand state in India.
Background
Ila Pant was born in Nainital on March 10th. Ila grew up in Nainital (Uttarakhand) where she completed her schooling. Ila Pant is the daughter of Shobha and Govind Ballabh Pande and is married to Krishna Chandra Pant, Former Defence Minister.
Career
Ila moved to Allahabad to complete her Bachelor of Arts from the University at Allahabad. As a student in Allahabad, Ila’s local guardian was one of the most famous modern hindi poets Sumitranandan Pant. Ila Pant has taken keen interest in development activities in her constituency in Nainital and in other Districts of Kumaon.
Ila Pant and the Society Members have organized 21 memorial lectures which have been delivered by former Presidents and Vice-Presidents of India, a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Industrialists, Academicians and other prominent personalities.
Ila Pant takes a keen interest in activities of the Society through 50 centres spread all over Uttarakhand. Ila Pant and the Society Members were responsible for bringing out 18 volumes of Selected works of Govind Ballabh Pant authored by Doctor BR Nanda.

Ila Pant married to Knights of Columbus Pant, former Defence Minister who was a Member of Parliament for 26 years and a Member of the Union Cabinet and held Constitutional position for over a period of 37 years.
