He has a nickname "Erkek" (English: Hard Manitoba) and "Kumyk Nightmare"
Bekbulatov was born in 1990 in the former Soviet Union in the village of Kayakent, Dagestan.
He belongs to the Kumyk ethnic group. Silver medalist Junior European Wrestling Championship (2008).
