Imasuke Kokontei began life as a salesman at a department store. He took to storytelling under the name of Yonemaru and succeeded to the former Imasuke (1939). Is noted as a recounter of newly written rakugo. Imasuke Kokontei was an actor, known for "Ashita wa gekkyubi" (1952), "Odoru machi" (1953) and "Musume to watashi" (1962).
