After graduating from Tokyo University (1899) became an army surgeon. Later was appointed instructor at Military Medical College (1907), and the following year was sent to Germany to study bacteriology and pathology. On returning rejoined the Military College (1910). Was Japan’s delegate to the International Hy-giene Conference at Paris (1919).
