Ingo went to China and was received in audience by Bukkan (Fo-Chien) Zenji at Ching-Shan (1244). Returning home entered the Chorakuji Temple of Kozuke (Gumma Prefecture). Later when the Chinese priest Shigen came to Japan both studied together.
