Ino Ue-no-himiko was born in 717. He was the eldest daughter of Emperor Shomu during the Nara Period.

Ino Ue-no-himiko first served the Ise Shrine and then became lady-in-waiting at the Court or Emperor Konin and bore him a son, Prince Osabe. Installed Empress (770) and deposed (772).
