Inoue Harimanojd was originally an artisan who made bamboo screens for the Imperial Court. Studied joruri under Gendayu Toraya and later originated his own style known as Harima Bushi. In Osaka he gained fame as chanter of a puppet show and assumea in succession the title of Yamato-no-jd and of Hai’ima-no.
