Inoue Jintairo become associated with Taisuke Itagaki at an early age and took part in the founding of Takamatsu Risshi sha, which encouraged liberal thought.
Career
Because of his political leanings was imprisoned (1886). Inoue Jintairo entering business was vice-president of the Takamatsu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and subsequently was elected member of Rikken Seiyufccti Party (1902). Made attempts to lay the foundation for the salt industry in Liaotung Peninsula and cultivate cotton in Fukien Province. Later made an extensive tour of South China and Australia to investigate trade conditions and agriculture.
