Background
Irina Ozerova was born on December 24, 1934, in Voronezh, to a family of the Voronezh Drama Theater actors. Her father died in 1942 as a result of direct bombing hit while performing on the stage. When Irina was a child, she was overcoming different events connected with the war. Then, she started writing poems.
Education
In 1952-1956, Irina studied at the philological branch of Historico-Philological Department of the Voronezh State University. After that, she entered the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute and graduated from there in 1960.
Career
Irina Nikolaevna started writing poems when she was a child. In 1956, she took part in the 3rd All-Union Conference of Young Writers held in Moscow. Since 1960, she worked in the editorial board of the newspaper "Literature and Life", "Literary Russia" for more than 10 years.
Irina Nikolaevna had her works published in "Lifting", "Moscow", "Youth", "Young Guard", "Change" and other magazines. She translated works by many West European and American poets, as well as poets the USSR peoples. In 1960, her book "It is True, Spring!.." was published in Voronezh. Then came "The Coast of Understanding" (Moscow, 1980) and "The Arena" (Moscow, 1985).
