After completing of study on Sino-Manchu branch of the Oriental Department of Leningrad State University (now Saint Petersburg State University) (1950), Irina Timofeevna was directed to work as the interpreter in People's Republic of China (Dalian city). She was a senior literature editor in the Chinese fund of the V.I. Lenin State library of the USSR (Moscow, 1953-1958), Russian language teacher at the National University of Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar, 1958-1961).The leading researcher of the Russia-China Center in Far East Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 1968). Expert in history of Qing China. The originator, the author and the commentator of many collections of documents on history of the Russian-Chinese relations of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The works of Moroz based mainly on archive materials are published in collections and collective monographs.
