Österwall began singing in various amateur societies and debuted as a singer in Gosta Jonsson"s orchestra.
Achievements
She is considered one of Sweden"s first jazz singers, and was sometimes called "Red Hot Mama." She left the artistic life in the early 1950s, when she married the painter champion Tore Catoni.
