Joseph Mercantile Company, 1919-1922. With Kaufmann Department Stores, Pittsburgh, since 1922, vice president, 1935-1955, president, general manager Kaufmann Department Stores, since 1955.

Vice-president, director The May Department Stores Company, Allegheny Broadcasting Corporation.

Director Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. Organized and was chairman Allegheny County war price and rationing board of Office of Price Administration, represented retail trade as member wholesale and retail inventory policy committee War Production Board, was also member retail advising committee Office of Price Administration.
