Career
A cousin of former England international forward Darius Vassell, he progressed through Plymouth Argyle"s youth system to make his Football League debut in 2011. Prior to joining Truro, he spent time on loan there and at Bideford and Weymouth. Vassell made his professional debut on 6 August 2011, in the opening day draw with Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute for Tom Hitchcock in a 1–1 draw at the New Meadow.
He joined Truro City on a work experience loan in March 2012 until the end of the season, where he made six appearances for the club in the Conference South.
Vassell moved to Bideford on loan in August 2012 for three months. He played in two cup games for Argyle in 2013-2014 before joining Weymouth on loan until the end of the season in March 2014.
After his release from Plymouth at the end of the 2013-2014 season he returned to Truro City, and after scoring two goals in a 5–0 friendly victory at Godolphin Atlantic on 11 July 2014, he signed for City the following day.
