Appointed a government director United Presbyterian Railroad by President Arthur, 1882, became assistant to president railroad 1884-1889. Wrote for Commercial Advertiser, Evening Telegram (both New York City), also Post-Express, Rochester. Editor New York Tribune, 1891-1898.
